    Provisional 'Cheque' Issue 1898 (March 11): Provisional 1 d. vermilion & grey-blue, Setting I, a used horizontal pair, each with "JG." initials (J.T. Gosling, Postmaster General) on reverse, neatly cancelled by ZOMBA circular datestamp (March 13, 1898) in black of third day of issue. Good margins with vertical continuous lines at left and right entirely clear. Just 480 stamps issued. Rare Gi = £ 2'200.
