Overprinted on India at the Zanzibar Gazette 1895/96: India 2 a. 6 p. yellow-green overprinted, a used example showing variety "Brit1sh" for British, neatly cancelled by LAMU code A squared circle datestamp (Feb 16, 1896) in black. The sole recorded example used in Lamu. Extremely rare, this error was corrected almost immediately after the first printing and its sheet position is uncertain, see "British East Africa" by John Minns, pages 70-71. Just three examples are recorded therein, one of which is housed in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III. Unique. Cert.
