    Overprinted on India 1895/96: 1 a. plum, two examples, used in combination with 1895 handstamped ½ a. deep brown on 1895 cover to Red Hill, Surrey tied by MOMBASA squared circle datestamps (Dec 21). Reverse with "Redhill / Station Office" arrival cds (Jan 13, 1896). The address is in the hand of Mary Rachel Gedge (1837-1902), C.M.S. Mission at Freretown. File folds away from the adhesives.
