Mombasa Provisionals 1891 (Feb): Provisional "1 Anna" in manuscript on 3 a. black on dull red, a hoirzontal pair, countersigned "VHM" (Victor H. Mackenzie, IBEA Co. Bank Manager) in black ink, used on 1893 registered Macallister cover to London with single 2½ a. black on yellow-buff all tied by MOMBASA code A circular datestamps (Dec 13) in black with oval "R" at left, paying the corrrect single registered rate. London registration datestamp in red and "Registered / Woolwich" arrival (Jan 15, 1894) and reverse with "Zanzibar" and "Aden" (Dec 25) transits in black. Just eight covers are recorded bearing this Provisional, one of which is housed in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III. A magnificent and beautiful cover. Cert.
