    Mombasa Provisionals 1891 (Jan): Provisional "½ Anna" in manuscript on 2 a. vermilion, watermarked, a used example, corner marginal from top right of sheet, variety "Original Face Value Not Obliterated", countersigned "AD" (Andrew Dick, chief accountant of the Imperial British East Africa Co.) in black ink at Mombasa, of fine colour and appearance, corner bend in margin only and of no significance, lightly cancelled by MOMBASA code A circular datestamp (May 27, 1891) in black - with only two examples recorded by John Minns in "British East Africa" on this date. Illustrated in Minns on Colour Plate 1. No unused examples are recorded; superb, without doubt the finest known and extremely rare. Cert.
