    1873/87: Bell Essay for the 1 d. value on card (56 x 51 mm.), with printed central vignette of Queens's head and hand-painted surround all in shades of rose-red, signed at right 'RR' in manuscript ink (Robert Ramsay, Postmaster General of Victoria); this being the accepted design. A small stain well outside the design has been professionally removed at left. Illustrated in "The Stamps of Victoria" by Geoff Kellow RDP on colour plate 12.
