    1889 (Nov): De La Rue Essay for proposed unified issue on card (40 x 55 mm.) with imperforate Keyplate Colour Trial in ultramarine with "ST. HELENA" hand-painted and hand-painted Duty Plate "1½d." each in carmine, the latter picked out in Chinese white; headed "Specimen from the Universal Key plate" at top in manuscript ink. Illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 5446. Illustrated in "St. Helena" by Edward Hibbert on page 54. Unique and wonderful.
