    Austrian PO's 1865/67: Great Britain 1 s. green, wmk. Garter, pl. 4 used with 1858 2 d. blue pl. 9 (Gi 100+45) on 1865 entire letter to Ploesti, Bothuschani, Romania endorsed "Via Ostend" tied by "Manchester / 498" duplexes in black (Oct 3). "AUS ENGLAND PER AACHEN / FRANCO" datestamp (Oct 5) struck in blue and thence via Vienna (Oct 6) and Kronstadt (Oct 10) to destination, where struck with two superb strikes of "PLOJESTIE" Austrian P.O. cds in black (Oct 11) - even rarer than the red datestamps of this town (Tchilinghirian fig. 768). The cover with some aging removed but most attractive and opens well for Exhibit display. Ex collection Sassower.
