    Austrian P.O.'s 1840 (March 4/16): Entire letter from Galatz to Genova, unusually mailed via Jassy with scarce straight line "JASSY" handstamp in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 753 - first year of use). Rastel punched for disinfection with rauten numbe on reverse in manuscript. Oval "LT" and "*VIA / DI VOGHERA" in red on front with arrival (Aproil 4) on reverse in red. Slightly soiled as to be expected, opens well for display. Ex collection Sassower.
