    1859: 1 gr. in the rare shade 'bruno oliva grigiastro' from plate II, state II, a horizontal pair from positions 91 & 92, fresh and fine multiple with good to huge margins all round, each tied by 'ferro di cavallo' handstamp, wreathed GIRGENTI despatch cds (May 18, 1859) and "PALERMO ARRIVO" arrival cds of the following day alongside. Some edge paper split and paper hole below the franking skillfully repaired, nevertheless an attractive cover bearing adhesives of the first plate to pay the 2 grana rate from office to office.
