    French Post offices in the Levant 1870: Cover from Smyrne to Lyon, bearing Bordeaux 40 c. orange, a fine and fresh example with close to large margins, tied by Gros Chiffres '5098' lozenge with matching "SMYRNE TURQUIE" despatch cds (April 21, 71) and framed PD in red alongside. Reverse with ambulant and LYON arrival (April 28) cds's. Some toning, nevertheless a rare use of the Bordeaux issue in the Levant.
