    Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'HALF / PENNY' in violet on Great Britain 2 d. grey-green & carmine, a used example with Gibbons Type 6 handstamped surcharge in violet and showing "Raised 'Y' in PENNY", marginal from base of sheet, cancelled by complete strike of "Old Calabar River" circular datestamp (21 March, 1894) struck in black. Just 120 stamps issued, scarce. Cert. Brandon (1986) Gi = £ 500.
