    Official / Cancellation Trial 1840: VR 1 d. black, unissued Official, a "used" example with large margins all round, lettered GE, with Cancellation Removal Trial strike of Maltese Cross in black and moderate attempts at removal of the cancel. Sir Rowland Hill's official Trials took placed in June 1840. Rare. RPSL cert.(1997)rnRemark: Believed to originate from the Rowland Hill estate, sold by his son Pearson Hill in the 1880's.
