    1840: 1 d. black, plate 7, lettered PG-PL, a used horizontal strip of six, large margins on three sides, just touched occasionally at base, a light crease affecting PH and a repair to PJ and PK, on sextuple rate cover to the Bishop's Registrar in Carlisle. The stamps are tied by neat strikes of the Maltese Cross in red. Reverse with HAWICK despatch cds (Oct 24) of depatch in black. File fold crosses between PG and PH but a splendid example of the up to 3 ounce rate. The second longest used multiple from pl. 7, second only to a heavily repaired strip of eight.
