    1840: 1 d. black, plate 6, lettered CB, a used example with llarge margins all round and showing portioin of adjoining stamp at top and small trace at lower right, used on 1840 cover from Spalding to Lyme Regis tied by Maltese Cross in red. SPALDING undated circular handstamp in black at left. Spike hole in cover but most attractive Gi AS41 = £ 775.
