    1840: 1 d. black, plate 5, State 1, lettered QC, matched with 1841 1 d. red-brown on blued, plate 5, State 2, lettered QC, used examples with ample to good margins all round, cancelled by Maltese Crosses in red and black respectively. Both stamps show "Horizontal guideline in the "C" square" and "diagonal line in NW corner". A scarce pairing Gi AS25+AS31 = £ 1'475+.
