    1840: 1 d. black, plate 5, State 1 and State 2, each lettered PA, matched with 1841 1 d. red-brown on blued, plate 5, State 2, lettered PA, used examples with ample to good margins all round, cancelled by Maltese Crosses in black, red and black respectively. All three stamps show "Scratches in lower margin" and "Traces of horizontal guideline in the corner letter squares", the 1 d. red-brown showing some plate wear, the 1d black state 2 with faint creasing, otherwise fine. A scarce trio Gi AS25+AS30a = £ 1'500.
