    1840: 1 d. black, plate 1b with 1841 1 d. red-brown on blued, plate 1b, two examples, all lettered JE, fine used except one 1 d. which is just touched. The stamps are cancelled with red Maltese Cross on the 1 d. black and black Crosses on the 1 d. red-browns, one with Leeds distinctive Maltese Cross. One 1 d. red showing early State with "Horizontal Guideline in the "J" Square, second example from State 3 after repair with re-entry markings in upper corners. A very fine Plate 1b 'Matched Trio' Gi AS55+AS57+AS59= £ 1'600.
