    1840 (May 7): 1 d. black, plate 1a, lettered IJ, a used example on 1840 local cover from Kensington to the Adephi in London, margins ample to large all round, tied by bold strike of red Maltese Cross. "T.P. / KENTISH TOWN" despatch at right and reverse with octagonal framed "PD / MY 7 / 1840" well struck in red on the second day of use. Minor cover faults, otherwise most attractive 2nd day usage.
