    1857: Prepaid envelope endorsed "On Public Service Only", signed by the Catholic priest "M.M.Ryan", addressed to the Catholic Bishop of Hobart, from the convict settlement and struck with circular "PORT ARTHUR / POST OFFICE" datestamp in black with manuscript date "29/10/57" inserted. Circular "♚ / FREE" datestamp of receipt (Oct 30) in red.
