    1851/52: Laureated 2 d. ultramarine, Plate I, used on 1851 cover to Horse Guards, London overlapped by August 1850 1 d. carmine, Plate II on bluish paper, position 25, with large margins all round, each tied by Sydney barred obliterator in black. Fair only "PAID SHIP LETTER / ♚ / SYDNEY" in red (Dec 17) at right (3d. outgoing Ship rate). Reverse with London arrival in red (April 5) and charged '8d.' due in manuscript upon arrival. Cover #290 in the Ben Palmer census, illustrated on page 198. A rare mixed issue usage and most attractive. Cert.
