    KLM L1049C Super Constellation PH-LKY 'TRITON' Crash at Shannon Airport 1954 (Sept. 5): Single line special cachet 'SALVAGED FROM K.L.M. CRASH AT SHANNON' in violet used on two envelopes from Germany to USA bearing advertising meter marks, of which one registered usage from Ulm, together with a third cover from Bad Schwartau bearing black special cachet of Shannon Airport Post Office, forwarded Sept. 27 to Rotterdam. Acceptances from Germany are quite rare, a fine trio Nierinck 540905.
