    B.O.A.C. Crash of Short S25 Sunderland Flying Boat 'G-AGES' from Nigeria - Lisbon - (Foynes) 1943 (July 28): Japanese P.o.W. postcard dated June 19, 1942, written by British P.o.W. John Madren at Changi Camp in Singapore to his Mother in Essex, England, showing local "TRAIGHLY 3. VIII 43" cds. and manuscript finder's note: "KERRY EIRE, CARD picked up at Mount Brandon scene of plane accident /July 43". Rare privately safed after the Mount Brandon crash July 28 1943 without official crash cachet and locally posted at Traighli (Tralee Co. Kerry). About 30'000 P.o.W. letters/cards were carried on this crash flight, of which only 2'500 were recovered by local people. To date the only known card which was locally posted without purpal crash cachet Nierinck 430728.
