    Imperial Airways Crash of Short S.23 'CENTURION' at Hoogly River, Calcutta 1939 (June 12): Group of seven crash covers from Australia bearing 'SALVAGED MAIL / EX. CENTURION" cachets in red, including two with misspelt "EX. CENTURIA" variety (Nierinck type c), fine franked cover from Brisbane showing inverted 'D' variety (Nierinck type d) as well as regular 'E' of 'EX' under 'S' of 'Salvaged' (Nierinck type a). Further three unused postcards with one in original envelope Nierinck 390612.
