    Sultan Ali bin Hamoud Issue 1906/08: De La Rue Die Proofs (2) for the head-plate, each engraved by L.V. Phillips in grey-black on sunken medium wove paper (42 x 47 mm.), the first with Sultan's portrait only, the second with the Fez darkened and button added to the epaulette on the portrait and background shading added. A similar Proof illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 6603. A charming and scarce pair.
