    Surcharged by De La Rue on GB 1890 (May 23): ½ a. on 1 d. lilac, 1 a. on 2 d. green & carmine and 4 a. on 5 d. dull purple & blue; the set of three values unused, each overprinted "CANCELLED" in black (Samuel GB14). The 2 d. with unobtrusive creases not detracting from the appearance, fresh and fine, large part og. Less than a dozen sets exist, the sets were used as De La Rue / Inland Revenue reference specimens, some of which remain in Official archives. Rare.
