    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1861/64: 2 d. green, wmk. Star, clean-cut and intermediate perf. 14 to 15½, two single examples with a 1 d. dull blue, used on 1862 "Asia Rate" cover from Colombo endorsed "per Str. from Galle" to Calcutta, lightly cancelled by barred obliterators in black. Reverse with "COLOMBO / POST PAID" despatch in red (Oct 18) and Calcutta arrival cds (Oct 28) in red. Corner hinge repair at lower left and slight faults to letter-sheet but a scarce cover.rnProvenance: Collection R.C. Agabeg, Harmers, London, 20 May 1982, lot 2204.
