    British Post Office 1847: Entire letter from Zakynthos (Zante) to Marseille, prepaid with "5d." in red manuscript with '3' credit at right alongside hooded ZANTE despatch in blue (July 11). Transferred to British P.O. and struck with fine "♚  / PAID AT ZANTE" in bluish-black ink. Marseille entry markings in red on obverse and charged '7' décimes due on arrival. Superb Gi = £ 1'400.
