    1872/7: Cérès 5 c. green on bluish, a horizontal pair and a horizontal strip of three, large to just shaved margins, the multiples being in differing shades, used on 1880 cover to Bordeaux endorsed "via Brindisi" tied by "INDE / PONDICHERY" datestamps (March 3) in black. Carried on P&O steamer "Mongolia" to Suez. Reverse with Bordeaux arrival cds (March 24). An unusual cover.
