    British Post Office 1849: Entire letter from Nassau to Providence, RI, USA prepaid with "♚ / PAID AT BAHAMAS" in red with manuscript rate alongside '1/-' in red ink. Reverse showing double arc BAHAMAS despatch cds (March 31) in black and entry marking "New York / Ship / 7 cts." (April 15) in red on obverse.
