    1841: 1 d. pink envelope used in 1868 from Swansea to the Earl of Clarendon in Watford cancelled by '763' numeral obliterator on despatch. Readdressed to the Earl at the Hotel de la Rose in Wiesbaden, Germany endorsed "via Ostende" and franked by 1865/67 6 d. lilac vertical pair tied by 'Watford / 849' duplex in black (Aug 7). Mailed via Aachen with blue 'Franco' transit and arrival on reverse. Slight imperfections but an interesting and attractive cover.rnNote: George Villiers, Earl of Clarendon became Foreign Secretary in the Liberal Government in 1868.
