    1841: 1 d. pink envelopes (2) used in 1846 and 1849 to France, with earlier cover endorsed "via Brighton" and mailed from Cambridge and cancelled by "158" obliterator, with rare "ANGLETERRE / PAR DIEPPE" entry marking in red (Sept 16) and charged "7" décimes due to pay - reverse showing Brighton transit cds; 1849 cover used from Brecon (June 27) to St. Servan charged "12" décimes due to pay (5 d. British and 7 décimes French). Latter cover somewhat heavily cancelled but the former, with the Brighton routing, is very rare.
