    Charles Whiting & William Wyon 1840 (Oct): Essay with embossed Wyon head within oval engine turned surround with "POSTAGE ONE PENNY", an electrotyped example possibly produced thus to establish whether forgery of the design was possible, trimmed at lower edges, printed in pale orange-red with the pendant curl.
