    1855: Prepaid entire letter to Bordeaux struck with superb "BUREAU DE PONDICHERY" despatch cds in black (June 20) with '30' décime rate on reverse in manuscript and red 'PD' on obverse. 'Sealed Bag' system through British Post, carried by P&O "Oriental" to Suez and "Valetta" from Alexandria to Marseille with "Colonies Fr. V. Suez" entry marking in red (July 31) with Bordeaux arrival (Aug 2). Slight soiling but scarce.
