Lithographed by Thomas Ham 1850 (Jan 3): 1 d. orange-vermilion, First State of the Die, a very fine used example, type f, with large margins for this elusive issue, lightly cancelled by Butterfly handstamp in black. Trace of thin at top but an immensely rare stamp, issued on January 3, 1850, this first Stone was already being retouched in mid-January after a printing of just 9'600 stamps.
