    1890: South Australia Stamp Design Competition, an Essay for the ½ d. value showing Kangaroo and surrounding corners with Ship, Pick, Shovel, Stoop etc., and vignette of the 'Proclamation Tree', hand-painted in shades of blue on card (69 x 77 mm.), marked "Geometry" (entrant's pseudonym) in pencil at base and in ink on reverse.
