    1853 (May): Laureated 8 d. dull yellow, a used example with large margins all round, on 1853 cover to Stokesley, Yorkshire endorsed "p. Chusan" and "Postage Paid thro", used in combination with Sydney View July 1850 3 d. emerald green, with similarly huge margins all round and showing portion of adjoining stamp at right; tied by Sydney barred obliterators in black with framed "TOO LATE" handstamp alongside (6 d. paid in cash for same in manuscript; 3 d. for outgoing Ship Letter paid by the Sydney View and 8 d. for British incoming Ship Letter paid by the Laureate). Reverse with "Sydney / N.S.W." despatch cds (July 28) and London cds (Oct 28) where '8d.' noted as prepaid in red manuscript. Readdressed on arrival to South Shields.
