    1868 (April 10): Envelope from Le Havre to New York, endorsed "Steamer Scotia" and bearing a combination franking of Napoléon perf. 80 c. rose and Napoléon laureated 80 c. rose, two fine adhesives with good perforation, each tied by Gros Chiffres '1769' lozenge and "NEW YORK PAID ALL APR 22" arrival cds. Cover struck on obverse by LE HAVRE despatch and framed PD as well as '6' (cents) due handstamp, both in red. An attractive combination of same denomination and colour from two different issues to pay the 160 c. double rate. Cert. Goebel (1996).
