1854: Envelope from Alais to Besançon bearing Napoléon imperf. 20 c. blue Type I, a fine example with huge sheet margins at top and right (7 x 8 mm), showing complete Filet d'encadrement at top, tied by Petits Chiffres '38' numeral lozenge. Matching despatch ALAIS (Dec 14, 54) cds alongside, reverse with ambulant, Lyon transit and arrival cds's (Dec 16). Lightest vertical file fold, an appealing usage with this impressive sheet margin.
