    1859 (May 9): 4 d. grey-lilac with large even margins all round and 6 d. green with shaved margin at base, three large margins and minor bend at corner, used on double rate 1859 cover to Baltimore, USA lightly cancelled by "1" numeral at Port of Spain. "♚ / PAID / AT / TRINIDAD" in red at left and '8' in red manuscript. Reverse with 'Trinidad' double arc cds (Aug 9) and 'St. Thomas' transit cds (Aug 14). STEAMSHIP / 20 charge mark in black of arrival. File fold just touches the adhesives but an exceptional and rare franking. Cert.
