    Recess by De La Rue on handmade paper 1867/70: 1 s. reddish violet, wmk. Crown CC type 6, perf. 12½, a used example and a horizontal pair on triple rate 1871 cover endorsed "via Brindisi" from Colombo to Glasgow all tied by "A" obliterators with "COLOMBO / PAID" despatch cds (April 18) in red at left. Reverse with Glasgow arrival cds (May 13).
