    Typographed by De La Rue 1867: 1 d. blue, wmk. Crown CC, perf. 14, used examples (9) including a strip of six, on 1871 cover to Cloughjordan, Ireland endorsed "via Southampton", all tied by "70" numeral obliterators with "BATTICALOA / FREE" despatch cds alongside (March 1). Reverse with 'Colombo / Paid' cds in red, and Cloughjordan arrival (April 10) in black. A few imperfections but a scarce usage.rnrnProvenance: Rev. G.E.K.
