    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1861/64: 9 d. purple-brown, wmk. Star, clean-cut and intermediate perf. 14 to 15½, an unused example of lovely deep resonant colour, trace of adjoining frame line at left, fresh and very fine, without gum. A superb example of this rarity and very possibly the finest extant. Cert.
