    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1861/64: 2 d. green, wmk. Star, clean-cut and intermediate perf. 14 to 15½, two single examples with a 1 d. dull blue, used on 1862 "Asia Rate" cover from Colombo endorsed "per Str. from Galle" to Calcutta, lightly cancelled by barred obliterators in black. Reverse with "COLOMBO / POST PAID" despatch in red (Nov 1) and Calcutta arrival cds in red. A scarce cover.rnrnProvenance: Collection Rev. G.E.K.
