    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1857/59: 5 d. chestnut, wmk. Star, imperforate, a used example in a vivid shade, large even margins all round, used on 1859 'Asia Rate' entire letter to Shanghai endorsed 'Paid' and 'per Norma', cancelled by barred obliterator in black. Reverse with "GALLE / STEAMER LETTER" despatch in red (Dec 22) and 'HONG KONG' cds in blue (Jan 13, 1860). File folds away from adhesive, a fine entire. Cert.
