    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1856/57: Plate Proof by Perkins Bacon for the initial issue, 1 d. black imperforate on medium yellowish wove paper, an unused block oif six (2 x 3), marginal from top of sheet with clear to good margins all round (difficult to find - the stamps were misaligned on the plate, causing most multiples to be touched). Fresh and very fine without the usual creasing.
