    1914 (Sept 3): GRI 5 s. on 5 m. carmine & black, a used example with variety "Surcharge Double", the surcharge almost entirely over the original surcharge (1 mm. to the right), tied to small piece by "Apia / Samoa" cds (Oct 13) in black. An enormously rare stamp of which Gibbs conjectures just 4 were possible (width of the sheet) but just this sole used example appears to be recorded. Signed Stanley Gibbons, London.  Cert.
