    1899 (April 24): Provisional ½ d. on 1 d. blue, wmk. NZ and Star, perf. 11, an unused block of four of fine colour, variety "Surcharge Inverted" and misplaced, the surcharge almost entirely missing from the upper pair of stamps, fresh and very fine, large part og. This block illustrated and described on pages 112-113 of volume V of "The "Postage Stamps of New Zealand". A most attractive and extremely rare multiple. Cert.
