1872: Merida District 25 c. red, imperforate (27-73), a fine example used on reverse of 1873 opened for display cover to Bordeaux tied by boxed and dated "MERIDA / FEBRERO 25" in black (Schatzkes fig. 785). Carried via New York with circular "NEW YORK / BR. TRANSIT" cds (March 12) in black and London (March 25) where struck with framed "GB / 3F 60c." accountancy applied in black with US '5' cents credit mark at right. Charged '15' décimes due upon receipt (March 26). Slight repair to tear at side of envelope but a most attractive and scarce usage.Starting bid : 400 CHFHammer price : 750 CHF -
