1871/72: General Issues 30 c. brown on buff and 1871 Cérès 40 c. orange, each with large margins all round, used on 1872 cover to Marseille tied by dotted 'MQE' lozenge with "Martinique / St. Pierre" despatch cds at left (May 28). Carried by British ship and annotated '2' in manuscript at left for double rate and struck with framed "AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT" in red; charged due with manuscript '9' deleted and handstruck '9' in blue on arrival (June 15).
